Our Artificial Intelligence for Underwater Monitoring
Our proprietary Artificial Intelligence for underwater monitoring, Wails, represents the technological heart of our solutions. It was developed entirely by our in-house team with the goal of ensuring high performance, operational reliability, and maximum precision in complex and often critical marine environments.
Our AI is designed to work in real-world conditions: variable turbidity, low light, currents, reflections, and the presence of suspended particles. Each algorithm is optimized to ensure continuity of analysis, reducing false positives and improving the quality of the data collected.

Internally developed Artificial Intelligence algorithms for Underwater Monitoring
The platform is developed and optimized on-premise, with deep learning models trained on real datasets collected in Italian and European underwater scenarios. This approach allows us to maintain full technological control and quickly adapt models to new operational, regulatory, or environmental requirements without depending on external providers.
Continuous training allows for the improvement of recognition and classification capabilities over time, ensuring an evolving and always up-to-date system.

Intelligent detection in photos
Our algorithms detect and classify various categories of objects, subjects, and anomalies in underwater environments within photos:
- Divers: identification of unauthorized diving with automatic alert generation for protected areas, ports, construction sites, or sensitive infrastructure, specifically designed for intrusions in marine protected areas
- Surface vessels: recognition of dinghies, tenders, fishing boats, and recreational craft, even in low visibility conditions.
- Marine assets: monitoring of aquaculture cages, moorings, ROVs, AUVs, and underwater infrastructure for safety and preventive maintenance.
- Environmental anomalies: detection of sediment accumulation, abnormal biofouling, flow variations, or structural changes over time.
- Cetaceans and marine fauna: identification of cetaceans and other marine species through video integration and acoustic data, supporting scientific research and environmental protection activities.
Data analysis and automated reports
In addition to photo recognition, the AI platform enables advanced processing of collected data to generate customized PDF reports.
Reports include:
- Detected events with timestamps
- Statistical analysis over time
- Historical image comparison
- Environmental indicators
- Photographic and video evidence
This feature is particularly useful for management bodies of marine protected areas, companies operating in underwater construction sites, and scientific institutions requiring certified and easily shareable documentation.
Our AI, together with our platform, allows for clear and in-depth data analysis.
