WAILS at GITEX Global 2026 in Dubai, in the Italian National Pavilion by ICE

WAILS will be at GITEX Global 2026 in Dubai from 8 to 11 December 2026, in the Italian National Pavilion organised by ICE – Italian Trade Agency. We will bring our underwater cameras and our AI-powered analysis platform.

WAILS is the continuous underwater monitoring system developed by WLAB S.r.l. of Mantua, Italy: fixed cameras, sensors and artificial intelligence in a single platform. After WETEX in October, we are returning to Dubai for the world’s largest technology and startup show.

What is GITEX 2026 in Dubai?

GITEX Global is one of the world’s largest events dedicated to technology, artificial intelligence and startups. In 2026 it takes place for the first time at Expo City Dubai, after many years at the Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together companies, investors, public bodies and research centres from around the world.

Italy takes part with a National Pavilion organised by ICE in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, hosting innovative Italian startups and SMEs.

What will WAILS bring to GITEX 2026 in Dubai?

At our stand we will show the tools our customers use every day, not a prototype:

stainless steel underwater cameras in 4K, with a wiper to keep the lens window clean and an LED illuminator to see even when natural light is not enough;
the web platform where live images, archive, timelapses and reports can be viewed from a computer or smartphone;
artificial intelligence analysis that recognises fish, divers and seabed changes and sends automatic alerts;
off-grid power solutions, to install cameras even where there is no mains power.

Why does AI underwater monitoring matter in the Gulf?

In the Emirates and neighbouring countries, seawater is an industrial resource: it feeds desalination plants, cools power stations and hosts ports, coastal works and offshore aquaculture. At the same time, coral reefs and seagrass meadows are at the heart of major protection and restoration programmes.

In all these cases you need to know what happens below the surface continuously, not only during an occasional inspection. A fixed camera connected to an analysis platform makes it possible to check water intakes, follow offshore construction, document the condition of a habitat and keep objective evidence for acceptance tests or environmental reports.
